To make changes to the specified files, you need to activate some attributes to change. Activate attributes by clicking on checkboxes and modifying the associated attribute.
Verify that the target files are not on a locked volume such as a CD-ROM. You also might want to check the disk that contains the files for errors with Disk First Aid.
